"The Red Comet"

Ink stippling with Copic Multiliners and then watercolor wash and then fill only using two reds.

An outline of the helmet of Mobile Suit Gundam's famous antagonist Char Aznable, with features the three red mobile suits he pilots through the early run of the series, culminating in the Char's Counterattack animated film.

Included is an time apse video the project (with the Spacenoidz song "Colony Drop," used with permission). an early shot of the ink stippling before I began painting (red background provided for contrast, and an 8bit pixel art version of the same. The original sprites are not my own, but come from the 1993 Famicom game SD Gundam: Gundam Wars. However I did swap the white pixels with tan so that they would not interfere with the eyes in the helmet.
