Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite - 2001: A Space Odyssey fan art (2025)

Digital art drawn in tribute to the classic science fiction novel and film "2001: A Space Odyssey." A favorite of mine when I was a child, I saw the film and read the novel when I was 8 years old, although I don't recall which I did first.

The USS DIscovery One is imposed over the alien Monolith, both of which are over the clouds of Jupiter. Discovery points downward, portraying the tragedy of her mission. Meanwhile the Monolith is seen in a pyramid shape, pointing up, symbolizing the hope for mankind on its journey to the stars.
